Lixenberg, who was surrounded by family at the time of his death, was known among other things for donating more than 300 silkscreen prints to GVSU. This donation helped establish the Print and Drawing Cabinet which protects high quality art pieces that were created on paper.

Lixenberg’s “United Sun” can be seen in Holland and is considered the largest sculpture in the area.

GVSU is currently in possession of over 550 pieces created and donated by Lixenberg himself.
