During the last weekend of April, more than 3,000 students graduated from Grand Valley State University at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids. Families and friends of graduates filled the arena to celebrate their accomplishment.
This year marked a record for the university with three total winter commencement ceremonies, and this summer marks the 50th anniversary of the first graduating class from GVSU, which consisted of 138 students in 1967.
