Bicyclist hit by motor vehicle on campus

Grand Valley State University police were called to respond to a bicycling accident outside the Kirkhof Center at 2:08 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16.

While crossing through the crosswalk outside the Kirkhof Center, a bicyclist was struck by a passing motor vehicle, said GVPD Capt. Brandon DeHaan.

The victim has been transported to the hospital and is believed to be suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation. 

UDPATE 3:59 p.m.: The vehicle is university-owned and was driven by a GVSU student employee at the time of the accident.
