GVSU GOLF FRESHMAN TIED FOR TOP THREE PLACEMENT

At the Eagle Eye GCAA Amatuer tournament this past week on Oct. 5-6, several GVSU students made their presence felt. 

Two Grand Valley freshmen, Charlie DeLong and Nick Krueger, tied for third place at the end of the event. DeLong and Kruger were paired together and finished the event three under par and with 213 shots total. DeLong opened the event with a 72 followed by 70 his second round with five birdies with four of them on the back nine. Krueger had four birdies in his final 12 holes.

On the women’s side of the event, senior Katie Chipman and freshman Megan Miron finished the event tied for 23rd. They finished with an overall score of 231 and 15 over par.

Other GVSU participants included freshman Drew Coble and Alex Jordan. Coble finished tied for 23rd place scoring a total of 231 points and 15 over par. Jordan finished the event in 37th place with a final score of 240 and 24 over par.
