Grand Valley State University’s president, Thomas J. Haas, was voted the winner of this year’s West Michigan Executive Stache-off. With more than 600 votes, Haas won by a landslide against the four other contestants. Blue Cross/ Blue Shield of Michigan sponsors the “Movember” contest every year to serve as a reminder of men’s health awareness. Participants were asked to grow their mustaches from Nov. 1 until the shave-off on Dec. 3. The best mustache was voted for through a Facebook contest, where the photo with the most “likes” won the competition.
