Noted author, columnist to speak at Hauenstein Center lecture

Grand Valley State University’s Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies, along with other sponsors, will host noted presidential author and Forbes columnist Amity Shlaes tonight. Shlaes’s lecture will present a provocative examination of Calvin Coolidge and the growth that the nation saw under his leadership. The lecture will also discuss the qualities the 30th president had that could help today’s politicians. Shlaes will speak at 7 p.m. at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.
