Rider sustains minor injuries in bicycle crash

At 11:30 a.m. today, Grand Valley State University police responded to a car versus bicycle personal injury crash on North Campus Drive at West Campus Drive.
A vehicle traveling north bound on North Campus Dr. struck a rider on a bicycle in the cross-walk at West Campus Drive.
Capt. Brandon DeHaan. assistant director of the Department of Public Safety at GVSU, said the crash occurred when the bicyclist attempted to cross the road in the cross walk area and was found at fault in the crash for failing to make sure vehicle traffic was clear by stopping prior to entering the cross walk.
The bicyclist sustained minor injuries and told officers they would seek their own treatment. Both the driver of the vehicle and rider of the vehicle are students.
