Mencotti earns GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for third time this season
Grand Valley State women’s soccer player Gabriella Mencotti earned her third GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week of the season. She won the award two consecutive weeks during the weeks of Sept. 19 and 26.
Mencotti was a key contributor in the Lakers’ two wins over the weekend. She tallied a goal and an assist in the first game against Ohio Dominican, followed by a five-goal performance in Sunday’s match against Findlay.
Her five goals were a GVSU record for most goals in a single game and a GLIAC record for most goals in a single-conference game.
The six-goal weekend bumped her to the top of the list in most points and goals in all of Division II. She has 20 goals on the season along with eight assists.
