Student struck by campus utility vehicle
A pedestrian was transported to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a Grand Valley State University plow truck on West Campus Drive.
The incident is currently under investigation by GVSU police, and it is not yet clear if the driver or pedestrian was at fault in the accident.
Leadership Summit welcomes presentations
Grand Valley State University’s 15th-annual Leadership Summit is welcoming undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, student affairs professionals and community leaders to submit a program proposal. Topics can include: club sport and intramurals, campus-wide programming, civic engagement and service learning, diversity and cultural organizations, housing and residential life, general leadership development, student government, social justice, women’s leadership and Greek life.
Deadline for submission is Friday at 5 p.m. at www.gvsu.edu/leadership.
The statewide conference will take place Feb. 18.
Blanket donations being accepted
Sisters United welcomes the Grand Valley State University students, staff members and faculty to donate gently used blankets to the Collective Covering blanket drive for the Mel Trotter Ministries Women’s Shelter in Grand Rapids. Donations can be given from now through Dec. 9 at the following locations: Children’s Enrichment Center, the Fieldhouse Area Room 163, Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences Room 326, Kirkhof Center Rooms 110 and 1201 and Lake Michigan Hall Room 260.
Sisters United is a group of Grand Valley students and staff members from Zeta Phi Beta, Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Kappa Alpha and Sigma Gamma Rho.
