Fifth-year senior point guard Rob Woodson of the Grand Valley State University men’s basketball team was named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week on Monday after a pair of impressive outings on Thursday and Saturday.

Woodson, who was honored before the game at Thursday’s Senior Night, helped seal a 77-69 home victory for GVSU against Saginaw Valley State University by converting six consecutive free-throw attempts in the final 52 seconds. He finished with 15 points, six assists, four rebounds, three steals and zero turnovers.

The Inkster, Mich., product also came up big in an 82-73 win at Wayne State University on Saturday. He racked up a career-high and GVSU season-high 29 points to go with five steals, four boards and zero turnovers. He also shot 9-of-10 at the foul line for the second consecutive game.
