Kindertransport open auditions

Calling all thespians; the play Kindertransport will be holding open auditions Sept. 12 from 5 p.m. to 8
p.m. in the Louis Armstrong Theatre located in the Performing Arts Center, and then on Sept. 13 from
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center room 0072. Callbacks will be held Sept. 15 in PAC Room 1506
from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The drama written by Diane Samuels is being directed by Professor Karen
Libman. Told in a series of flashbacks, the play focuses on the life of nine-year-old Eva Schlesinger,
one of the 10,000 children rescued from Germany during World War II by the Kindertransport mission
undertaken by England. Taking place over a 40-year period, the play focuses on themes such as
mother-daughter relationships, separation, loss and whether or not the past can be forgotten. No
preparation is necessary as the auditions will consist of a cold reading, and the script is available on
e-reserve at www.gvsu.edu/library. The play will be performed Nov. 15-23. To sign up for an audition
