GVSU second baseman on torrid pace
Kevin Zak and the Grand Valley State baseball team continue to roll offensively.
For the second consecutive week, Zak earned GLIAC North Division Player of the Week honors following another stretch of games with blistering numbers at the plate.
The senior notched a .727/.769/.818 slash in four games, including a 5-for-5 performance in GVSU’s 8-7 win over Wayne State College on March 9.
He leads the Lakers with a .500 batting average and has eight multi-hit games this season.
GLIAC salutes GVSU defender Wojichowski
The Grand Valley State women’s lacrosse team continues to pile up weekly GLIAC honors.
Junior Caitlin Wojichowski is the most recent Laker to earn recognition – in this case as the GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week. The Milford, Mich. product caused two turnovers and scooped up three ground balls in a 14-12 upset win over No. 18 Indiana (Pa.) on March 9.
Wojichowski has a share of the team lead in caused turnovers and ground balls this season.
