Feb 17, 2012
GVNow is reporting that a Grand Valley State University student was “awake and alert” on the way to the hospital after being hit by a Rapid bus on GVSU’s Allendale Campus.
“It appears the pedestrian was walking in the crosswalk on West Campus Dr., heading towards Lot H from the area of the Fieldhouse,” said Capt. Brandon DeHaan, assistant director of the Grand Valley Police Department. “The bus was traveling north bound on South Campus Dr. and turned west onto West Campus Dr. when the collision occurred.”
DeHaan added the student was transported to Butterworth Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m., and the GVPD is continuing to investigate the accident.
