Grand Valley State University donated 70 trophies from past tournaments and events to the Michigan Special Olympics summer games, scheduled from May 31 to June 2.

The trophies will be awarded to gold, silver and bronze Olympic champions.

Bob Stoll, Bart Bartels and Sally Vissers coordinated to organize the donation. Vissers, department coordinator for Women and Gender Studies, and her husband have been Special Olympics volunteers for more than two decades.
