GV President to have online office hours
On Oct. 5, Grand Valley State University President Thomas J. Haas will go online to hold virtual office hours from 2:30-4 p.m.
These online office hours are open to allow students, faculty and staff members to ask Haas questions via instant messaging and email pertaining to GVSU issues.
Only campus community members will be allowed to chat with the president, and anyone who wants to participate in this program will be required to login using their Novell username and password.
New health care options presented to GV students today
Know Your Care Michigan recently launched a campaign to ensure students and young adults know about health insurance options. John Freeman, director of Know Your Care Michigan, will speak to three Grand Valley State University classes today about various topics, including young adults who are unaware of the provision of Affordable Care Act, which allows them to remain on parent insurance until they reach age 26.
Know Your Care Michigan reports that this Act has assisted more than 1 million young adults gain medical coverage.
WGVU launches Women and Girls Lead
Designed to focus, educate and connect women, girls and their allies across the globe to deal with current problems, WGVU Engage has launched its Women and Girls Lead initiative.
With content pertaining to women, WGVU will air more than 40 documentaries, including “Women-War and Peace,” “Half the Sky” and “Kind Hearted Woman,” during this initiative. The goal is for these documentaries to contribute to a multi-year engagement that connects and sustains audiences across many platforms.
