Omicron Delta Kappa Recognized Nationally
Aug 29, 2011
Grand Valley State University’s Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society was recently recognized nationwide. Omicron Delta Kappa received the Superior Circle Award from the national chapter for its ability to create campus-wide leadership events twice a year, and meet the society’s standards.
The Honor society consists of students who are junior standing or above, alumni, and faculty who work with “I am Grand Valley” and other campus activities. Members of the Circle also put together a case study competition during the annual Leadership Summit, and cosponsor the Student Networking Reception.
Throughout 2011 the Grand Valley Circle has been celebrating 20 years of leadership on campus. In March, current and former members hosted a reunion dinner during the university’s 50th anniversary celebration. The Circle also plans to celebrate faculty-student collaboration, leadership and service by giving 20 faculty members “Faculty of Distinction” honors, later this fall.
