Guest column- Men’s group begins this week

Please join us as we create a space for college men to explore male
identity development, men & masculinities, social responsibility and
violence against women.

We are seeking students to be a part of weekly discussions where men
can relax and feel comfortable while grappling with what it means to
be a man. The GVSU College Men’s group calls our attention to
societal and behavioral norms, encouraging us to pause and seriously
consider the message young men receive about men and masculinity. Our
discussions will include sports, media and news industry, gender,
social justice, pornography, relationships, alcohol culture, women,
relationships, feminism, sexism, identity, family, and much, much
more.

We would like to have honest discussion and dialogue regarding men and
women, rape and sexual violence, relationships, and how you define
your own manhood. Show your care, concern, and willingness to change
social norms.

Be bold, be strong, and take action!

· Asses your own behaviors and beliefs

· Define your own manhood

· Take a stand against sexual violence

· Educate yourself and others
