WGVU Real Oldies 1480/850AM and WGVU 88.5/95.3 FM have launched two new apps for the iPhone, iPad, and Android.

The apps allow you listen to the stations live, as well as pause and rewind the live feed and view the programming schedule.

“We decided that we needed to have a mobile app for streaming our radio stations and had the opportunity to have it developed for us,” said Ken Kolbe, assistant general manager at WGVU.

When the app is launched, it will automatically start playing your favorite station. The multi-tasking app also functions as an alarm clock and allows you to browse the programming block or the web as the radio plays in the background. An On Demand feature lists individual story segments.

The app also allows you to access any station in the world and add them to your playlist. It can be accessed by anyone who can find the app. “We have listeners in Russia and Germany and other folks who stream us on their phones as well,” Kolbe said.

The app is compatible with the Radio Bookmark device at the website www.radiobookmark.com.

It was developed by Listener Interactive, located in Indiana. It is free to all users and can be found on the Android Marketplace or iTunes. [email protected]
