Grand Valley State University officials recently announced that they will be recognizing and acknowledging Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by giving an award to a West Michigan individual or organization that exhibits the teachings and leadership of Dr. King himself. This award, called the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award, will be presented at Grand Valley’s 2013 MLK Commemoration Week, which will be held from January 21-26. The deadline to submit a nomination will be December 17, and applications can be retrieved at www.gvsu.edu/mlk. These nominations can be sent to:
