A celebration downtown will offer Grand Valley State University students an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the city of Grand Rapids. The event, Celebration on the Grand, will offer free food booths from local restaurants and free live music. The festivities will take place on Sept. 6 from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with a break at dusk for a fireworks show at Ah-Nab-Awen Park.
