Tendo Lukwago (junior) and Darien Thornton (freshman) set new school records for the No. 5 Grand Valley State University men’s indoor track and field team on Friday, as the Lakers capped off their regular season at the GVSU Tune-Up.
After breaking the triple jump record last week, Lukwago struck again with a mark of 14.79 meters—good enough for a first place finish.
Thornton also added a first-place finish for the Lakers, besting the school record in the weight throw with a distance of 20.15 meters.
The GLIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships will take place at the Kelly Family Sports Center on Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m.
