The Student Senate is recognized by university administrators and the Board of Trustees as the official voice of the student body. As a public body, the Student Senate is held to the rule of the Michigan Open Meetings Act, which provides the public with a right of access to all meetings and meeting minutes. Student Senate meetings are held Thursday at 4:30 p.m. each week in the Grand River Room of the Kirkhof Center and minutes are posted on the Web site, http://www.gvsu.edu/studentsenate/.
