Interested in discovering a completely new culture but not
sure which one to choose? Study abroad will be hosting its winter semester fair
today from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Henry Hall Atrium of the Padnos Hall of
Science. Multiple booths will be set up
to showcase the wide range of opportunities for students who are interested in
study abroad programs. Come meet fellow peers and faculty who have participated
in these programs or simply stop by to ask questions about program selection, funding
and more.
Saturday Night Dive
Come kick off the semester with a laugh! Enjoy the first
Saturday Night Dive of the semester by dropping by Area 51 in the Kirkhof
Center. Be prepared to break out in unstoppable laughter, as fellow Lakers will
be taking the stage to perform standup comedy for 2 hours straight. Bring your
friends for this free night of comedy taking place this Saturday from 9-11 p.m.

Annie at Broadway GR
After much anticipation, the Tony award-winning production,
and childhood favorite, “Annie” will be hitting the stage of the DeVos
Performance Hall this week. It’s a fun musical for everyone, and follows little
orphan Annie who is determined to find her parents after being abandoned at an
orphanage years ago. With the help of her friends, Annie partakes in a series
of adventures within the busy world of New York. The show will appear at 7:30 p.m.
tonight and Friday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. and

Don Friesen
Stand-up comedian Don Friesen will grace the stage of Dr.
Grins at The B.O.B. this weekend, bringing along his fresh and frenetic comedy
styles. Exploiting his flaws all for the fun of it, Friesen’s shows have won
him the San Francisco International Comedy Competition and earned him die-hard
fans throughout the country. His shows have a broad appeal where Friesen
incorporates fun, clever and clean stories for the greatest laughs. He is set

Pop Scholars
The Grand Rapids Press refers to them as, “Smart,
risk-taking comedy that invites the audience in on the performance.” These four
Grand Rapids natives will be bringing their show to the Wealthy Theatre on
Friday, who can easily be summed up as a fast-paced improv team. Aside from
performing all over the Midwest, they perform public shows at Wealthy Theatre
monthly, and make yearly appearances at Grand Rapids’ comedy festival and
Laughfest. Friday’s show begins at 8 p.m. in the Peter Wege Auditorium with
