Renaissance Festival comes to GV
Oct 3, 2012
The Renaissance Festival organization will be hosting their 18th annual Renaissance Faire at Grand Valley State University beneath the Cook Carillon Clock Tower on the Allendale Campus from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. To make visitors feel as if they’re walking into another world, all of the club’s members will be dressed in Elizabethan clothing, and take on different personas as if from another time. There will be music performed by members of the club and other activities, such as belly dancers, storytellers, Vikings, and a Kid’s Corner. In addition to the live performances, there will be merchant stalls with vendors selling Renaissance-related merchandise such as armor, jewelry, clothing and collectibles, along with different foods and drinks. “There really is something for everyone (at the faire), whether you like to just pass through and look at all the things we have for sale, stay a while for our diverse entertainment, or if you’d like to get dressed up and have fun with our cast members, too,” said Rachel Bowling, Renaissance club president. “And the best part is that it’s completely free to come and enjoy the faire.”
