David Ruck, a former Grand Valley State University School of Communications student, will show his documentary “I Want to be an Astronaut” for the first time in West Michigan at 7 p.m. at the L. William Seidman Center on Friday. The film has been shown throughout the nation as well as at the International Space Station.

It focuses on Blair Mason’s childhood dream of becoming an astronaut and the current status of America’s space program. After the showing, a panel including Ruck and GVSU faculty and staff will answer questions from the audience.
