Women’s tennis wins four in Wisconsin

The Grand Valley State University women’s tennis team won four titles in the Warhawk/Panther
Invitational over the weekend, an event hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the
University of Wisconsin Green Bay in Whitewater, Wis.

GVSU junior Carola Orna picked up a victory in No. 4 singles play after defeating Northern Illinois
University’s Cristina Alvarez 6-0, 6-2.

Junior Kristina Lucas came away with a victory at the No. 7 spot when she defeated Ferris State
University’s Rebecca Beloungea 6-4, 6-0.

The team also picked up a pair of victories in doubles play. Senior Niki Shipman and junior Morgan
Patterson came away with a victory in the No. 3 spot, while the junior duo of Kelly Trapp Kristina Lucas
also won a title in the No. 4 spot.
