GVSU Artist Showcase

In an effort to highlight student artistic talents, WCKS The
Whale and ANCHOR honors student council have teamed up to produce a
student/local artist showcase. The event is aimed to serve as a platform to
share local talent with friends, family, faculty and other students on campus.
The showcase will be held on Saturday in Area 51 of Kirkhof and will feature
music and the hidden artistic talents within the GVSU community. Tickets are $5
and the proceeds will go towards supporting the artists playing in the show.

Curren$y at The Intersection

Louisiana rapper Curren$y will be taking the stage at The
Intersection on Friday alongside special guest Corner Boy P. Curren$y has been
featured on Cash Money Records as part of Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment
before releasing a series of his own mixtapes. In 2010, Curren$y was brought
under Roc-A-Fella Records and produced two mixtapes that hyped his reputation
as a talented lyricist. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. with tickets ranging

Grand Rapids Film Festival

A celebratory event honoring film and filmmaking will take
place through Monday in downtown Grand Rapids. The Grand Rapids Film Festival
is perfect for those looking to expose themselves to new cultures and
creativity. The festival is an international jury competition that screens 46
films. Family-friendly events are set-up each day of the festival and will take
place at various venues such as the Grand Rapids Public Museum, the Pyramid

Dan St. Germain

Comedian Dan St. Germain will be gracing the stage of Dr.
Grins inside The B.O.B. this weekend, bringing along his sense of witty humor
and fun perspectives. He has a half hour special on Comedy Central and has made
appearances on Jimmy Fallon, Conan, Guy Code and has developed shows for both
Fox and Comedy Central. If that doesn’t cut it, he has also made a special
appearance with Howard Stern on a Super Bowl commercial. You can catch St.
Germain downtown Grand Rapids tonight until Saturday. Tickets range from $5 to
