GVSU to award Secretary of Defense with the Col. Ralph W. Hauenstein Fellowship
Jan 15, 2015
Grand Valley State University will award former Secretary of Defense William Cohen with the Col. Ralph W. Hauenstein Fellowship at the World Affairs Council of Western Michigan on Jan. 19.
The fellowship, which has been given to Secretary of State James Baker and President Gerald R. Ford, is historically one of the greatest awards to ever be handed out by GVSU.
By being awarded the fellowship, GVSU is honoring Cohen in the same light as Col. Ralph W. Hauenstein, a man whose ethical leadership and public service continues to live on through the GVSU center of presidential studies which was named after him.
The event will start at 11:30 a.m. inside the Ambassador Ballroom at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids.
