Students win top places at business competition
Nov 11, 2012
A Grand Valley State University student recently took first place at the Fourth Regional Idea Pitch Competition, which was at Aquinas College on Nov. 7. Jason Sissing competed against students from Aquinas, Calvin, Cornerstone, Davenport, Hope, and GRCC to get a prize of $1,500. Participants had 90 seconds to share their ideas for a new project to judges without PowerPoint or props. Sissing, a marketing major, won with his idea called the “Pop-Top,” which is a redesign to plastic cup lids. This competition was sponsored by West Michigan Colleges and Universities Group and Ernst & Young, LLP.
