GVSU vs Dixie State Football Quick Recap

The Grand Valley State football team remained undefeated on the season with a win on Saturday, Oct. 6, beating the Dixie State Trailblazers 35-14. With the win, the Lakers improve to 6-0 on the season.

Quarterback Bart Williams threw for 237 yards, completing 57 percent of his passes and throwing three touchdowns, all going to Austin Paritee. Paritee also gained 121 yards receiving on six receptions.

Running backs Chawntez Moss and Jack Provencher combined to rush for 131 total yards on the night, with Provencher scoring a touchdown in the second quarter.

The scoring didn’t just come from the offense in this game, as in the first quarter defensive linemen Kwanii Figueroa picked off Dixie State quarterback Michael Sanders and took it to the house after a 47 yard return.

GVSU’s next game is home on Saturday, Oct. 13 against Ferris State. The game starts at 7 p.m.
