The Life Of Astronaut Roger B. Chaffee
An exhibition celebrating famous astronaut and Grand Rapids native, Roger B. Chaffee, hosted by Grand Valley State University and the Grand Rapids Public Museum, will begin Monday, Jan. 9 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the West Wall Gallery in the Eberhard Center on the Pew Campus. This photo exhibition honors the 50th anniversary of Chaffee’s death and aims to educate the public on his life and accomplishments.
Faculty and Staff Climbing Session
The Grand Valley State University Climbing Center will hold an introductory rock climbing session for all interested GVSU faculty and staff members Wednesday, Jan. 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Field House, Room 170C.
During the event, participants will learn about different styles of climbing, basic equipment, routines and rating systems, basic body positioning, techniques and general safety.
All attendees are asked to dress comfortably in clothing that allows free range of motion.
Campus Life Night 2.0
Join in on another Campus Life Night, an annual student organization fair hosted by the Grand Valley State University Office of Student Life, Friday, Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center.
Participants will have an opportunity to learn about more than 450 registered student organizations on campus and the departmental resources GVSU has to offer while collecting free swag and light refreshments.
Dominican Republic: Graduate Education Study Abroad
All students interested in studying abroad in the Dominican Republic in the graduate education program are encouraged to attend an informational meeting Saturday, Jan. 14 from 11 a.m. to noon in the DeVos Center, Room 119E on the Pew Campus.
This program was created to provide students in the College of Education with an opportunity to learn about social and cultural differences and apply that knowledge to systems of education in the United States.
An overview of the program will be included in the session as well as travel dates, financial aid options for graduate students, housing and course content.
The application deadline for this program is Wednesday, Feb. 1.
