Master Victor Chiang to give lecture, lead session on Zen and Chan meditation
Mar 30, 2014
Master Victor Chiang will come to Grand Valley State University on April 8 to give a public lecture on Chan meditation in the Kirkhof Center’s Grand River Room, and then he will lead a meditation session at Kirkhof Center 2263. The entire event will run from 1 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. The point of Chan is to get rid of the inessentials and to “unblock life,” said professor Peter Zhang from the School of Communications. Chiang, based in Los Angeles, has been in touch with scientists in China interested in how brain cells are activated during Chan meditation, and he will expand upon his findings at the lecture. Zhang, cohost of the event, also has an article on the topic called “Photography in a Zen Key,” available at gvsu.academia.edu/PeterZhang.
