Workshop offered to improve writing skills
Oct 28, 2012
As part of the Excellence Series, the event Clear, Effective Written Style, will take place in room 2270 of the Kirkhof Center on the Grand Valley State University Allendale Campus on Oct. 31 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The workshop will be put on by two of GVSU’s associate professors of writing, Charlie Lowe and Keith Rhodes. The goal is to focus on basic skills that will help improve writing essays and papers. The workshop will offer helpful tips on how to construct sentences so they are meaningful and make sense to the intended person that the writer is writing to. The workshop will also show attendees that it is better to create a sentence or even an entire paragraph in your mind rather than following English grammar rules that are learned at a young age. This event is open to faculty and staff. Sign up to attend the event at gvsu.edu/seminar or call (616) 331-2215. If assistance is needed before the event, contact the human resources department at [email protected].
