The GLIAC named five Grand Valley State University women’s tennis players to the All-GLIAC team Tuesday for their performances during the season.
Niki Shipman earned first-team honors. The freshman went 12-6 while posting a 7-2 mark at No. 2 singles.
Senior Chelsea Johnston and junior Tara Hayes earned second-team honors. Johnston went 15-2 overall and 12-3 at No. 1 doubles. Hayes posted a 6-4 record at No. 1 singles.
Darylann Trout, a senior, and freshman Lexi rice earned honorable mention honors.
The Lakers ended the fall season 15-0 (11-0 GLIAC) and captured the program’s third GLIAC title. It was the team’s first conference title in 30 years.
