Martin to oversee offense at Notre Dame
Former Grand Valley State University football coach Chuck Martin has been named the offensive coordinator at the University of Notre Dame.
In 2009, Martin left GVSU to serve as a secondary coach, working mostly with the safeties, and handle recruiting procedures for the Fighting Irish. Throughout the past two seasons, he has worked alongside Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly, who also served as head coach at GVSU from 1991 to 2003.
At the helm at GVSU, Martin compiled a 74-7 record and won two NCAA Division II National Championships.
During Martin’s six seasons with GVSU, the Laker offense averaged 35.1 points per game, 427 total yards and 208 rushing yards per game.
Martin will replace Charley Molnar, who was named head coach at the University of Massachusetts on Dec. 8.
