Internship offered to students majoring in sciences

The Annis Water Resources Institute is accepting applications for a winter semester internship by Grand Valley State University students who are majoring in the sciences.

Job responsibilities for the intern include working an average of 12 hours a week on AWRI projects in an internship period that will last 15 weeks. Academic credit is available, with as much as $1,800 in compensation.

Mini-grants being offered for internships

To encourage internship activity, the Career Services at Grand Valley State University is taking applications from departments or individuals for Internship Mini-Grants.

Previous recipients have used the Internship Mini-Grants to improve employer connections in the community, build websites or to pay students for time employed through internships.

Proposals for the IMG are due by Nov. 18 to Rachel Becklin at [email protected] or they can be dropped off at 206 Student Services Building.

Ford display Focus Electric at GV

On Oct. 24, Ford Motor Company showcased a prototype of the Ford Focus Electric vehicle to Grand Valley State University public relations students. The showcase was designed to promote the vehicle and discuss the company’s promotional campaign.

Mike Tinskey, global associate director of Electrical Vehicle Infrastructure for Ford, lead the discussion with GVSU students outside of Lake Superior Hall.

GVSU student created promotional plans to promote the vehicle to GVSU and other college students.
