‘Art Is a Drag: The Library Is Open’ closing Wednesday, Nov. 29
The Grand Valley State University art exhibit “Art Is a Drag: The Library Is Open” is set to conclude its residence in the Mary Idema Pew Library Exhibition Space on Wednesday, Nov. 29. Until then, students at GVSU are able to see the artwork all day long.
The exhibit, which opened Saturday, Nov. 4, has had a number of events for the exhibit, including an opening remarks ceremony and a live drag show. Siblings Kaylee and Rachel Britton did the photography and modeling for the art pieces, all of which are inspired by popular culture in some way.

Photography senior thesis exhibit being held Tuesday, Nov. 28
The Grand Valley State University photography program is set to host its senior thesis photography exhibit, “Five Chapters,” on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Haas Center for Performing Arts. The exhibition will be ending Friday, Dec. 8, with a special commencement viewing Saturday, Dec. 9, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The exhibit will highlight the photographic work done by five GVSU seniors in the photography department, utilizing their different artistic styles to illustrate the closing of one life chapter and the opening of another. All pieces of work in the exhibit will be available for purchase.

Saxophone studio recital set for Tuesday, Nov. 28
The Grand Valley State University Department of Music, Theatre and Dance is set to host a saxophone studio recital from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the Haas Center for Performing Arts Sherman Van Solkema Recital Hall, Room 1325.
This free event is open to the public and will feature performances by GVSU students of Dan Graser. The students, who are a part of GVSU’s saxophone studio, will be performing both solo and quartet pieces.

Discussing sexual harassment in the restaurant industry
“Sexual Harassment in the Restaurant Industry”—a presentation focusing on restaurant culture, different myths surrounding sexual harassment, and what can be done to protect employees and stop harassment before it happens—will be held on Grand Valley State University’s Allendale Campus on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
