The Grand Valley State University softball team was recently tabbed as the No. 3 team in the NFCA Division II Preseason Softball Poll after capping off one of its best seasons in school history.

GVSU finished with a record of 46-9 and won both the GLIAC regular season and Midwest Region championships in 2013. The Lakers advanced to the NCAA Division II College World Series for the second time in program history.
