Who to Watch
Jovonne Augustus
Wide receiver
While teammate Charles Johnson has gotten much of the attention from defenses this year, Augustus has still put together a strong year. His ability to go up and catch passes in the end zone has been a key to the Lakers’ success in the red zone this season, and against a defense that has allowed a league-low 12 touchdowns in the red zone, he will need to play well.
Zach Galloway
Linebacker
Potentially playing without sophomore linebacker Luther Ware – who is suffering from a hamstring injury – Galloway will need to continue his strong play against Northwood’s option-offense. The sophomore recorded nine tackles and a sack last week, and will again team with seniors Zach Breen and Brad Howard against a Northwood offense that runs the ball nearly 78 percent of the time.
Northwood
Cameron Jackson
Fullback
Normally a non-factor in an offense, Jackson is the center piece in the Timberwolves’ offense. With the return of quarterback Aaron Shavers, who has missed three games this season, Jackson’s production has risen. With the Lakers’ defense not able to focus solely on Jackson, the big sophomore might have openings.
Joe Bitterman
Defensive back
The former quarterback, turned running back, turned defensive back, Bitterman has give Northwood production in his first year on the defensive side of the ball. Tied for the team-lead in interceptions with two, the junior has shown that ability from the offensive side of the ball this season.
