GV alumna speaks at U.S. Capitol

Stephanie Brown, an alumna from Grand Valley State University, gave a speech at the U.S. Capitol Building in July during an event promoting the Women’s Economic Agenda, which is led by Rep. Nancy Pelosi. The Institute for Women’s Policy and Research invited Brown to share about the importance of child care and education after she was recommended for the role by Sharalle Arnold, director of the Children’s Enrichment Center at GVSU. Brown, who graduated from GVSU in the spring of 2013, also shared her experiences as a single mother in college.
