Flu Shots

Grand Valley State University will be offering flu vaccinations from Monday, Oct. 3 through Thursday, Oct. 27 at various locations. The GVSU Health Center, as well as the Allendale, Pew, Holland and Muskegon campuses will have a clinic set up throughout the month for vaccinations.

Flu shots at the clinics will cost $40, payable by credit or debit card but can also be charged to a student account. Insurance billing is available at the GVSU Health Center. Appointments are not required, but it is recommended to print and complete the shot form ahead of time. National Depression Screening Day

The Grand Valley State University Counseling Center will be providing free and confidential depression screenings from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6. Screenings take 10 minutes to complete and are available to all students, faculty and staff.

The service is provided on the Allendale Campus in the Kirkhof Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and in the Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pew Campus locations include DeVos Building C and the Cook-DeVos Center for Health Sciences from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information about depression or screening services, contact (616) 331-3266.

Champions of Change

The Grand Valley State University “It’s On Us” campaign will host a Champions of Change kickoff event Friday, Oct. 7 at noon. The event is aimed toward the men of the campus community to educate them about sexual violence and how to advocate for change. The organization’s goal is to raise awareness and encourage all members of the community to speak up against and work to prevent sexual assault. The event will be held in Kirkhof Center Room 2204.

Career Fair

Grand Valley State University will host a career fair in the DeVos Place Convention Center from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11. Over 230 national employers will be available with thousands of job, internship and clinical opportunities.

Students planning to attend should bring copies of their resume and dress in business professional attire. Resume printing is available in the Career Center for 10 cents a copy on resume paper.

Chinese Mooncake Social

Grand Valley State University’s Chinese language and culture club is hosting a mid-autumn festival Friday, Oct. 7. The event will feature Chinese tea, music and mooncakes, a Chinese dish. The social will be held in Area 51 in the basement of Kirkhof Center from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free to all students.
