GV seeking secondary school teachers
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation at Grand Valley State University is seeking applicants to teach in the Woodrow Wilson Michigan Teaching Fellows program. Teachers are in high demand for secondary schools in urban areas.
Science and mathematics teacher applications are open to graduating college seniors, recent graduates and mid-career or second-career professionals. Applications for the fellowship program are due by Jan. 10.
All fellows selected will receive a $30,000 stipend to complete a master’s degree program, and must commit to teach for three years in high-need secondary schools.
CEC addresses bullying in workshop
The Children’s Enrichment Center is sponsoring a workshop to address the issues of bullying in the educational community while at the same time provide resources to encourage its prevention.
The workshop will take place in Room 2266 of the Kirkhof Center from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday. It is LIB 100 approved. RSVPs should be directed to the Children’s Enrichment Center Director Sharalle Arnold at [email protected].
‘Change U’ registration closes Dec. 2
The free social justice program at Grand Valley State University is seeking involvement from GVSU faculty, staff and students along with the West Michigan community. The program is seeking applications until Dec. 2 and is open to 70 members.
Students who participated last year can participate in “Change U 2.0,” which is an advanced level of the Change U program. For additional information contact the LGBT Resource Center at 616-331-2530.
