GVSU to host bike fair
Grand Valley State University’s Campus Recreation will host a two-day bike fair Friday, Sept. 15, and Saturday, Sept. 16.
The event will include local biking resources and a variety of different activities, including races.

Spotlight Productions to host first open mic night of semester
Spotlight Productions at Grand Valley State University will host its first open mic night of the semester Friday, Sept. 15, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center Lounge.
Individuals who wish to participate in the open mic night should email Spotlight Productions in advance at [email protected]. Snacks will be provided.

Campus Recreation to host roadside maintenance workshop
Grand Valley State University’s Campus Recreation will hold a hands-on roadside maintenance workshop to teach attendees how to change and patch a flat tire and address other mishaps that can happen on the road.
The event will be held Monday, Sept. 18, from 5:15 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Study abroad funding 101 workshop
The Padnos International Center will be hosting a study abroad funding 101 workshop specifically covering funding options for spring and summer programs. The workshop will take place Friday, Sept. 15, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Room 130 of Lake Ontario Hall.
The workshop will provide students with information about financial aid, scholarships, grants, loans, fundraising, deferred payment options and affordable program options.

Explore Grand Haven
For students interested in exploring areas of West Michigan beyond Grand Valley State University, Campus Recreation will be hosting a trip to Grand Haven Sunday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. This event is the first in a series designed to get GVSU students off campus and visiting other areas of West Michigan.
The day trip will include both a planned hike and time for students to spend as they like, such as visiting Lake Michigan or exploring downtown Grand Haven. To learn more about available activities, visit www.downtowngh.com.
The attendance cost is $15. Participants should arrive at the Fieldhouse by 10:45 a.m. to ride in the van to Grand Haven. Recommended items to bring along include a small backpack, water bottle, a hat and sunglasses, a swimsuit and beach towel, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, snacks, and money to spend.
