GV Summer Film Project underway
Aug 2, 2013
The 19th annual Grand Valley State University Summer Film Project is in production. The film, titled “The White Bag,” is directed by Chicago filmmaker Marie Ullrich, who is also an assistant professor in the GVSU School of Communications. The film is a 16-minute comedy about an elderly woman who loses her temper at the youth of today and ends up becoming a local hero after fighting to increase politeness. Stars of the film include local actress Victoria Mullen and actress Ashley Black from Chicago.
The project offers students, who are juniors and seniors, a chance to work with professionals to complete the project. Over the six-week course, more than 20 Grand Valley students will help shoot the film during late July and early August. A 15-week course this fall will provide time for post-production of the film, and a premiere screening is expected in the spring.
