Brewery Vivant to crown Poutine Monarch

Brewery Vivant takes a spin on a Canadian classic dish for their upcoming event. The chefs at Brewery Vivant are concocting a collection of poutines for their Poutine Clash on Sunday, Oct. 11. The community is invited to participate in the event and try the unique plates of poutine from the brewery. Participants will taste the pountines and vote for their favorites. There will be one winner and it will be crowned as Poutine King/Queen.

Brewery Vivant is also a part of AlePrize. Their space will be the host of artwork by Madison Chaffer and Gabrielle Podkul.

Podcasts in the Park event brings together diverse voices

Local leaders and creative thinkers collaborated to provide an afternoon of thoughtful conversation and discussion. In Rosa Parks Circle from 2-5:30 on Oct. 3, Podcasts in the Park: Race, Opportunity and Obstacles will take place. The program included a conversation with the Grand Rapids City Manager “Full Exposure with Mark Washington,” a panel of Latina civic leaders “Latina in Grand Rapids” and a performance of the “In My Humble Opinion” podcast.

Fable the Poet from the Diatribe, Kyd Kane and AutoPilot will perform during intermissions of the event.
