After last year’s Campus Life Night was held online, the event will be back in person this year. Campus Life Night will be held on Aug. 29 from 6-8 p.m. in Lot H. New and returning students will be able to experience the excitement of joining new clubs and getting a look at all of the fun things to do on campus.

Campus Life Night is a student organization fair, however, local businesses, such as banks, will be in attendance as well. Students can get free handouts, prizes, and useful information from businesses and on-campus organizations. It can also be a great way to make new friends, make connections, and even find your community of people here on campus.

Students can expect up to 300 different student organizations, clubs, businesses, non-profit organizations, and other campus departments. Returning students know just how great it can be to be able to get out there and explore the different extracurricular activities Grand Valley has to offer. However, due to the pandemic and the cancellation of many in-person events last year, this will be a new experience for both incoming and second-year students.

“It’s a super-easy way to make friends, find connections over something you care about, and to have fun while on campus,” said Eric Stevens, assistant director of Student Organizations. “Don’t be intimidated by the size of Campus Life Night; check out LakerLink ahead of time to see what organizations we have and come prepared with a list of groups to talk to, but also be sure to walk around and stumble into a group or an experience that you did not expect. Be open to something new and give it a try.”
