Visit virtual drop-in sessions for Seidman undergraduate registration

The Seidman College of Business is offering virtual advising sessions now through April 5 and is available weekdays from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Advisors will be ready to answer general admission questions and offer more information about Seidman-undergraduate programs.

Network at the Gamma Theta Upsilon open house

On March 29, the Gamma Theta Upsilon Honor Society is hosting a reception and networking open house at the Alumni House. The purpose of the event is to initiate and welcome Geography honor society members, discover geography-related education and career opportunities and make professional connections. A buffet and other refreshments will be provided. This event is open for alumni and students.

Learn entrepreneurial tips at “Building a Better Workspace” info sessions

The Muskegon Innovation Hub is kicking off the Building a Better Workspace series with its first one-hour virtual session on March 28. Kim Bode from communications and marketing agency 8ThirtyFour is giving a presentation on creating company culture. Future sessions, taking place on April 11 and 25, will cover employee benefits and workplace trends. Those sessions will feature representatives from worldwide company Millennium Capital Management and Grand Rapids-based company Axios HR.

Attend nonpartisan training for women interested in politics

The Community Service Learning Center, Student Senate and other organizations are collaborating to host “Elect Her,” an event focused on training women or anyone else interested in running for student government or political office. The one-day event, taking place on March 31, will offer nonpartisan training and feature speakers who are women in elected positions. Interested students can RSVP on LakerLink.

Dress up and dance at Pride Prom 2022

This years’s astrology-themed Pride Prom is April 1 and is open to GVSU students and their guests. Attendees are encouraged to come as their authentic selves and dress up as their zodiac signs. Sponsoring GVSU organizations include In The Margins Poetry Club, STAGE, Whale Radio, Student Senate, and the Milton E. Ford LGBT Resource Center.

Celebrate self-love and women heroes with the Center for Women and Gender Equity

On March 31, CWGE is hosting a Women’s History Month celebration featuring a panel of diverse working women community leaders, a curation of music and poetry and a ceremony honoring faculty, staff and student work. Appetizers and beverages will be served and attendees are encouraged to mingle and make connections.

Learn to play cricket with RecWell

Recreation and Wellness is partnering with the Indian Student Association to offer cricket training. After the training session is complete, participants will be split into two teams and play a full game of cricket. All students and community members are welcome to join. No experience or equipment is necessary for participation.
