Usher announced to headline superbowl– Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Usher announced to headline superbowl– Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

Recently it was announced that musical artist and dancer Usher will be headlining the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show coming 2024, which is an absolute “dub” if you ask us.

The announcement was made through the NFL’s official X account in a series of comical videos featuring Usher and other high-profile celebrities like Kim Kardashian calling him to convince him he really did get picked to perform during the halftime show.

According to an NFL news release, Usher’s performance will take place at Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium on Feb. 11, 2024.

The NFL reported for Super Bowl LVII in 2023 that “Approximately 200 million viewers— 60% of all people in the United States.” It is obviously a huge accomplishment for anyone who is selected to perform at the Super Bowl, and with the amount of exposure that the event brings, it can be a great boost for the performer’s career. Especially for someone whose peak is likely behind him.

“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher said in the release

Usher performed in collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas during the 2011 Super Bowl halftime show, but this will be his first time headlining the stage. We are super excited to see Usher take the stage as the main act this time around, as we can also appreciate it more than when we were in elementary school.

Usher leaves the door open for a variety of performers to join him on stage. Although we also absolutely loved Rihanna’s performance for Super Bowl LVII as she dazzled by herself, we are super excited about the possibilities of who else might help put on the show.

With his 2004 hit song “Yeah!” it feels like Lil’ Jon and Ludacris should be a shoo-in to make an appearance. We could also see an artist featured on any of his newer releases turn up on stage.

The star announced that his new album, titled “Coming Home,” is set to release on the same day as his performance, according to Apple Music. The album comes after a few years of hiatus from releasing full projects. Summer Walker and 21 Savage are two of the featured artists on the album’s lone single “Good Good.” Both are artists whose careers began in Atlanta, Ga., just like Usher.

We are looking forward to watching his performance as well as tuning in to see if he chooses to perform any unreleased songs from the anticipated upcoming album. The album, which is labeled as R&B, is set to have 20 tracks

This news comes after The Daily Mail reported that singer-songwriter and global phenomenon Taylor Swift turned down the offer to perform at the halftime show. While many fans were disappointed by Swift’s decision, we are looking forward to Usher’s Super Bowl halftime show.

This massively watched event, the building excitement over his new album and his performance at the Super Bowl will usher Usher back into the spotlight he once held several years ago.
