Project Night Lights

The Helping Hands club will be in downtown Grand Rapids at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital for their monthly event “Project Night Lights” on Oct. 11. The event focuses on the community coming together to help shine lights into the hospital to let the patients know they are loved and supported by the community. There is free parking available. Bake Sale fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association

On Oct. 12 from noon to 3 p.m. the Alzheimer’s Awareness Club is holding a fundraiser in the lobby of Kirkhof Center. They will be selling various baked goods to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. More information here

Super Secret Underground Pretzel Club

The Super Secret Underground Pretzel Club is having its first meeting on Oct. 13 in Kirkhof room 0008. Students can stop by anytime between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. The club will have free soft pretzels and dip for students. Students are encouraged to stop by and learn more about the student organizations on campus, how to get involved with a student organization and how to start your own organization. Haunted Arboretum

Campus Activities Board, the Office of Student Life, and Housing & Residence Life will be throwing the annual Haunted Arboretum on Oct. 12 and Oct. 13 from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Arboretum will be decked out in spooky decor and feature students dressed up working as scarers for a haunted-house feeling. This is a free event, and students can RSVP through LakerLink

If students wish to take a walk through the arboretum to see the props and decorations put up without the jump scares, they can from 3 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 13. More information about the scare-free experience here.
