Rotaract Club hosts Thanksgiving blood drive

The Rotaract Club is holding a Thanksgiving blood drive with Versiti Blood Center of Michigan on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Grand Valley State University’s Kirkhof Center rooms 2215 and 2216.

Individuals who donate at the event will receive a coupon for a buy one, get one half off an entrée from Noodles & Company.

Appointments are preferred. Interested individuals can call (866)-642-5663 or visit Versiti’s website to donate at the GVSU drive. 

VSA’s Pho by Night

The Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) is hosting a “Pho by Night” event. This event supports the Rock Paper Scissors Children’s Fund, a non-profit organization that provides “marginalized girls living in rural areas of Vietnam with time and space to play, create and learn together, helping them to build their confidence, self-esteem and the continued desire to learn.”

The club will be selling Pho bowls, Pandan waffles and Vietnamese coffee. The event will be held on Nov. 17 starting at 6 p.m. in the Frederik Meijer Honors College Niemeyer Multipurpose Room. Around 8 p.m., there will also be karaoke if students wish to participate. 

Café Mahogany Talent Show

The Black Student Union is holding its Café Mahogany Talent Show on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Kirkhof Center Pere Marquette room. This event is a showcase of Black talent, and the theme aims to commemorate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.

Reggaeton v. Banda Baile

The Latino Student Union is hosting its semester baile on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in Kirkhof Center, room 2250. This year the theme is Reggaeton v. Banda. There will be a live band play and a DJ at the event.

This is a free event. Attendees can RSVP through LakerLink.
